Established in 2023, the Center follows a program that is a structured, medically supervised treatment approach designed to help individuals gradually withdraw from opioid dependence in a safe, controlled, and supportive environment, while maintaining their daily responsibilities such as work, school, and family obligations. This type of detoxification is specifically designed for individuals who are physically dependent on opioids (i.e. heroin, fentanyl, prescription pain medications, etc.) and are seeking to taper-off their use of opioids with the support of Methadone, a long-acting opioid agonist. The Center maintains a Florida license, DEA certificate, pharmacy license, and SAMSHA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) certification.

Program Goals include:

• Safely and gradually reducing the Methadone dosage over a period of time to allow the individual to detoxify from opioids with minimal withdrawal symptoms.

• Stabilize the individual during the detoxification process and reduce the risk of relapse.

• Educate and support the individual through counseling and behavioral interventions.

• Connect the individual with continued care including long-term treatment and recovery support following detoxification.

Program Components include medical assessment and intake, individualized treatment planning, Methadone administration, counseling and behavioral therapies, monitoring and support, and discharge planning and after-care.

Financial Overview

The current payor mix is approximately 80% commercial insurance and 20% self-pay.  In 2024, which was the center’s first full year, gross revenue was $302,834 with a small operating loss of $27,411 as a result of the start-up activities. The Center is currently providing Methadone detoxification services for approximately 110 patients.

The Center is positioned for significant growth with the ongoing opioid epidemic and recognition within the community as a high-quality health partner.  Furthermore, the one local competitor for substance abuse services does not participate in all commercial insurance plans.  Based on these factors, the Center has forecasted increased revenue and profitability in 2025 and beyond, with a projection to reach $600,000 by the end of 2025. 

Staff Overview

The Center is owned and operated by an experienced and highly educated substance abuse therapist whose team brings a clinically focused standard of care to the patients. The care team consists of one (1) owner, seven (7) therapists, and two (2) physicians. The owner is willing to remain with the Center for a reasonable transition period but plans to relocate out of state eventually. The remaining team members are all expected to continue working for the Center.
